Having cleaning supplies on hand for your hotel stay – the same favorites you know will work – can help give you peace of mind you can handle any accidents. Air Freshener Spray – I don’t know how something that smells faintly of Play-Doh can get all of the stink out of the air but I think Pure Ayre Odor Eliminator is pretty amazing. If I need to bring out the heavy stuff, I use Natrapel Insect Repellent Spray (note: the main ingredient – picaridin – is not approved by the FDA by use on dogs but studies have indicated it’s pretty safe). Dog Friendly Bug Repellant – If I want something totally natural knowing it won’t be as effective when the bugs are super bad, I use Wondercide Flea & Tick Spray.I’ve recently been experimenting with Tuff-Foot because it’s been highly recommended to me. Protecting paw balm – Our go-to for years has been Musher’s Secret Paw Wax.Dog Nail Clippers – These dog nail clippers from Millers Forge were recommended to me from a veterinarian.HEMP CBD Dog Calming Treats – the HempMy pet CBD treats and oil are high quality and very effective for us.Flavored water additive – I use a splash of coconut water or bone broth (this freeze dried one is handy for travel).Try to stick to the same food and treats you feed at home so your dog doesn’t get an upset tummy. Favorite treats include Only Natural Pet RawNibs and Vital Essentials Freeze Dried Mini Nibs. Dog Treats – Since my dogs get so many treats when they travel (for training and photo shoots), I primarily use actual food and consider it part of their daily food ration.Dog Food – This is what I feed my Dachshunds to keep them fit and healthy.I didn’t include every item here because either we don’t have any favorites or we have a lot we switch between. I grouped them as they appear on the checklist below. So here are some of the key products we bring with us when we travel and stay in hotels, Airbnbs, vacation cabins, or other accommodations with a roof over our head. However, because I travel with my dogs so much, I love testing out the latest and greatest products, and I have really high standards, people are often interested in what we use ourselves. Also, some brands compensate me for sharing them with you.įor the most part, I mentioned generic items on the checklist. As an affiliate, I earn a small commission from qualifying purchases. A lot!Ĭross things off the checklist that you opt not to bring, at least not on the current trip, after you print it out. If I was flying with my dog, I would have to narrow this list down. I fully understand that this affords me the luxury of bringing pretty much anything I would need or want for my dogs.ĭepending on your mode of travel, you may not be able to bring everything you would like to. My primary mode of travel with my dogs is via vehicle. My purpose was to include absolutely everything I bring.Īlso, I’m a dog gear fanatic so we have a lot of stuff for a multitude of scenarios. Yes, my checklist has a lot of stuff on it. I Don’t Have That Much Room to Bring it All! The dog blankets, crate, and crate pad/bed don’t make it inside a bag either. The cleaning supplies and most of what is on the rest of the checklist goes inside a dog travel bag.įor example, the portable dog crate, if I bring it, just gets shoved somewhere in my car. Keeping your dog travel essentials in a bag is not possible for some of the bigger items but storing them in the same area of the house will help you pack quicker when it’s time to go. I put the dog’s eating kit – bowls, slop mat, etc – into a tote bag. I organized my packing list into categories.įood and medication goes into a locking bin so the dogs can’t accidentally gorge on food or eat medication that will make them sick. It’s also very important to me that my dogs be comfortable and the hotel stay feels a bit like a second home to them so they stay relaxed and happy. Things that will help take care of little messes, on my dogs or on the floor, are also essential. When I think of my must-haves for traveling with a dog I, or course, think of essentials like food, treats, medications, supplements, collar, leash, etc.īut to me, “essentials” go way beyond that. What will vary most is how much of everything you bring. This list will work whether you are packing for a weekend trip with your dog or will be gone for several weeks at a time. To make taking a vacation with my dogs easier, and to make sure I don’t forget anything, I created this pet travel checklist for when I stay in a roofed accommodation like Airbnb or hotel (we also camp, road trip, backpack, and overland and I’ll be working on lists for those two). So much that I’ve been able to refine my list of dog travel essentials over time and for different scenarios.

Borrowers shopping for bad credit student loans might be approved at a higher interest rate, which means more money spent on interest charges overall. The stronger your credit, the more likely you’ll be offered competitive, low interest rates. Private student loans require a credit check. In addition to calculating your total interest paid, the student loan calculator above shows you how much of your monthly payment goes toward interest to see this view, click on “show amortization schedule.” How short or long your student loan term is dramatically changes how much total interest you’ll pay. A fixed rate won’t change during your loan term, but variable rates can decrease or increase based on market conditions. Unlike federal student loans, which offer only fixed interest rates, some private lenders offer fixed or variable student loan interest rates. When calculating your student loan interest, keep in mind that there are a few other key factors at play: Additional factors to consider when calculating student loan interest Pre-qualification allows you to input basic details about yourself and your desired loan in exchange for a snapshot of the rates and terms offered. To find out what interest rates you'll receive, take advantage of lenders' pre-qualification features, if available. Keep in mind that the lowest interest rates advertised on lender websites may not be available to you. The higher your credit score, the lower your interest rates. Private student loans, on the other hand, will often do a credit check and set interest rates according to your creditworthiness. Federal student loans offer the same interest rate to all borrowers, regardless of credit score or income. The interest rate you're offered depends on the type of lender you're pursuing and your financial picture. Before borrowing student loans, make sure you know all of the term options your lender offers so you can choose the right path for your financial needs. On the flip side, a longer term for your student loans will lower your monthly payment but will accumulate more interest charges over time. Some lenders offer lower interest rates as an incentive for a short term length. A shorter loan term can help you save more money on interest charges during your repayment period but result in a larger monthly payment. Terms for private student loans can be as short as five years and as long as 20 years. Like private student loan amounts, private student loan repayment terms vary by lender. However, student loans that are under an alternative payment plan offer terms from 10 to 25 years. For federal student loans under a standard repayment plan, the default loan term is 10 years. Your loan term is the amount of time you have to repay the loan in full. If you must take out loans to finance educational gaps, consider maximizing federal student loan limits before turning to a private student loan, as federal student loans come with additional benefits like income-driven repayment plans and standardized hardship programs. Regardless of whether you borrow federal or private student loans, borrow only the amount you need per school year after exhausting all grant and scholarship options. Some lenders also impose lifetime borrowing limits, which may be up to $150,000 or more for some degrees. In general, private student loan lenders offer loan amounts that cover the gap between a school’s cost of attendance and any other financial aid a student receives. Each lender sets its own borrowing criteria, annual borrowing limits, interest rates and repayment terms. Loan amounts for private student loans can vary by lender. These lines are significant as like Gregor when a person is dependent he/she loses their worth. Although other family members try to open the door, yet nobody comes in. It is very common for superiors to demand an explanation when a person doesn’t show up for work. He threatens him saying that he is serious about it, and wants an explanation for his unprofessional behavior of limiting himself to his room. However, when Gregor does not respond, the Manager is enraged saying Gregor is creating problems for his parents and his workplace. When Gregor Samsa does not open the door after repeated efforts of his family members, his boss comes to fetch him. “ I am speaking here in the name of your parents and your employer, and I am requesting you in all seriousness for an immediate and clear explanation.” These lines are significant as they show how a person can become entirely confused and crippled in a new situation. Also, he cannot remove his blanket, move with ease or turn upside down as this is an entirely new experience for Gregor. Unable to open it, as he has transformed into a bug, he responds to him with only ‘yes,’ but it doesn’t sound the same. These lines appear when Gregor Samsa hears his father knocking at the door. He needed arms and hands to push himself upright.” But to continue was difficult, particularly because he was so unusually wide. He needed only to push himself up a little, and it fell by itself. “It was very easy to throw aside the blanket. This line heralds the situation of a man having found himself in an unexpected and bizarre dilemma. He knows that he is a human being, but a changed just as he has dreamed. However, it is interesting to note that he still has consciousness of a human being despite having turned into a bug. Gregor Samsa, the protagonist of The Metamorphosis, has suddenly found himself transformed into a bug. This line opens the story told by an anonymous narrator. “One morning, as Gregor Samsa was waking up from anxious dreams, he discovered that in bed he had been changed into a monstrous verminous bug.” 7 litre V8 Auto 1976 Original factory right hand drive South African made Small amount of work needed for MOT History Private plate included Sprayed on load liner Electric seats Electric windows Beautiful Nardi steering wheel Built by Chevrolet in South Africa and badged from new as an El Camino. For example, Google’s standard logo on is actually a. It's also common for vector images to be converted to raster images to make them more accessible on the web. As long as the resolution is at least 300 pixels per inch, your image will be able to be printed just fine. In this case, you might want to keep your image a raster file. Converting a photograph to a vector image is possible, but will usually result in a drop in detail. For example, photographs are always raster images. However, there are times when using raster images might be your best option. This difference usually makes vector images a superior option, especially when it comes to print. You could literally increase the size to 3 million x 3 million and all the details would still look sharp (assuming your computer could handle a file that big). Now let’s pretend you have a vector image that is 300 x 300.īecause a vector image is made up of mathematical paths, you can increase the size of the image as much as you want and it would never decrease in quality. How do you increase the size of a vector image? This is why a lot of designers prefer to convert their images to vector before printing them out. Vector graphics are used by artists who are creating illustrations, logos, and other designs that are going to be printed on big surfaces. And because of this, if you zoom in or out, the lines, curves, or points always remain smooth. They form shapes based on mathematical equations. Upscale your images for free with AI What is a vector image?Ī vector image or graphic is a type of image defined on a plane, connected by lines and curves. Although with AI tools, it is possible to increase your artwork resolution. While it's easy to make an image smaller, increasing the size usually means decreasing the resolution. Let's pretend you have a raster image that is 300 x 300. How do you increase the size of a raster image? They are viewable using a bitmapped display or another medium. A raster, also called a bitmap image, represents a rectangular grid of pixels. Web graphics are generally not suitable for professional printing. Why is this difference important and what does it actually mean? What is a raster image?Ī raster image is a term in computer graphics and digital photography. To recap, logo files should always be vector-based and SVG files can be used to display vector graphics online. Make sure the designer provides vector logo files when updating your logo, and ask your printer to double-check the resolution of images when professionally printed material. With this in mind, consult a graphic designer when in doubt. Raster-based images can be embedded into Adobe Illustrator, and vectors can be placed and even created in Photoshop. Any of the above file types can be exported to a pdf format, so these files can be either vector, raster, or a combination of the two.ĭisclaimer: Graphics software has come a long way, resulting in much line-blurring between programs. The small exception to these rules is the Portable Document Format (.pdf, PDF). Encapsulated PostScript File (.eps, EPS).Graphics Interchange Format (.gif, GIF).Joint Photographic Experts Group (.jpg, JPEG).The purpose of this post is to further explain the difference between these file types and to help determine which type is required for various purposes. Raster graphics, such as digital photographs, are created using a grid of tiny pixels. Vector graphics, such as logo files, use intricate paths of points and lines to create an image. When zoomed in closely, the individual pixels can be observed.ĭigital graphic files will generally fall into two categories-vector or raster. Raster images are made up of tiny squares called pixels and are often referred to as 'bitmap' images. This makes vector files the best format for graphic assets such as illustrations, icons and company logos, as the same file can be used for designs ranging from a mobile app to a large billboard without sacrificing quality or increasing file size. Vector files, made up of points and lines to create paths, can be scaled up and down without losing quality. What is the difference between vector and raster files for graphics? His guidelines are to never put sauce on your ribs because good ribs don’t require sauce. This is why most people outside of the city give me a skeptical look when I describe the city as magical. The most popular TV show about the city is The Wire putting the city’s problems and complexities in full view. After all, our most famous resident died in a gutter. It seems like Baltimore has always been defined by its more seedy elements. It reminds me of a line from “ Good Morning Baltimore” in John Waters’ Hairspray: It is not the crab cake that defines Baltimore, it is the people you have to weave through to get there. When you watch the lost tourist souls, bravely venturing from the Inner Harbor, their wide eyes desperately trying to get a Findley’s crab cake, you realize like tourists in every city they fail to see what truly makes this city incredible. This is why I love guest blogger Devan Southerland’s love note to Lexington Market. The man who shouts at you for no apparent reason, the group of loiterers who mingle at the bus stop on the corner, the person who asks you for money every time you leave the grocery store are all part of the city too but rarely are they symbols of any Keep Weird campaign. We often deny that weird can sometimes be uncomfortable. Keep Weird campaigns tend to focus on gentrified areas where local businesses thrive and problems are kept at bay. Most campaigns generally only celebrate brick and mortar local businesses, excluding hustlers like the amazing makeshift market that appears daily on the corner of 25th and North. This brings me to my first question: who gets to define weird? One of the criticism of the Keep Portland Weird campaign is that it only celebrates the young Portlandia generation and not the original residents of the Oregon town. The “Oh Baltimore” moments people have shared this past week with ChangeEngine show a side of Baltimore often not embraced by people who try to brand our city, but nevertheless are one of the reasons we stay. The first question hit me when I was reading Lindsey Davis’ blog this week on “ Embracing the Noise.” Often times the “Keep Weird” campaigns focus on businesses or festivals that define the city but in reality some of our favorite things about our locale is the people you find on the streets. Over the next weeks I will look at the Keep Austin Weird campaign and ask three key questions: While I love the celebration of quirk, seeing the campaign through the lens of Baltimore brings some interesting questions to light that I am going to explore in a three part series. The campaign has spawned hundreds of knock-offs including Keep Portland Weird, Keep Ashville Weird, and even the small town in Virginia where I am currently writing this has a Keep Staunton Weird campaign. It has been seen as a huge success in celebrating the city’s tolerance, innovation, and local flavor. Keep Austin Weird is a slogan created by Red Wassenich and adopted by the Austin Independent Business Alliance to promote local business in Austin, Texas. The one I chose was a spin on the Keep Austin Weird campaign: A few weeks ago, ChangeEngine challenged us to come up with a tagline for Baltimore. |
